Nowadays thousands of European holidaymakers are trying to plan holiday package to Malta. However, Malta, the island in the midst of the Mediterranean Sea, will not be attractive to the people who want to snap up the benefits of a package, as other Europe’s best known and loved holiday spots have more to offer than the money they charge for the package.
Malta has been influenced by the culture of Africa and Europe because it lies between the both. Valletta, the island’s capital, founded by knights has been recently been awarded the accolade of World Heritage City. However, Valletta is a mixture of historic attractions as well as modern culture, a world away from the traditional resorts of St Julians and Silema.
Beyond the traditional resorts of Malta one could experience greater impression of the island. Towards the south of the island one could see small fishing villages and secluded bays offering an authentic insight into rural Maltese life while the medieval walled town of Madina is rich in heritage and historic attractions.
It’s a worth effort to venture beyond the resort towns in Malta. The island has plenty to offer, whether anyone wants to spend a day or two away from the sun and sand, or anyone looking for an autonomous holiday of culture and history. Although traveling in relatively straight forward, the best way to get into the beaten tracks in Malta is the rented cars, because to explore the beaten tracks through the public transport is very difficult.
Further if anybody wants to have peaceful and cool taste of Mediterranean life they can take a boat to the islands of Gozo and Comino. Even though the accommodation on the islands on Gozo and Comino are limited, but it worth the pain the person takes in going there through the boat.
