Finally the Low Cost Travel to Malta

According to the local travel guide there is some good news for Malta after a long era of decrease in the number of visitors to the country. He believes that the amount of money the government spends per passenger in Malta is little in comparison to the other holidaymakers, and as such it is a vital contribution to the island's economy by them.

Total Government spending is estimated approximately US $10,000,000, which means just about $40 per passenger, while the holidaymakers spends much more than that based on which over 80% of passengers think of staying in Malta. The visitors staying in Malta will start exploring the beauty of the island and as such Malta will soon become one of the most preferred holiday spots for the tourists.

Malta will not only experience the increase in the number of cruise passengers, but also watch a boost in airline passengers as it has recently started low cost flights to the island.  Malta believes that as the number of passengers visiting Malta is increasing both from cruise as well as flights due to new low cost flights to the island; the number will reach to a very high level towards the end of 2007.

Based on the belief of some travel experts the Malta tourist industry will soon prosper in true colors. In the late spring of 2006, Hotel and the travel agent in Malta was constantly decreasing. The rumours spread in Malta that the main UK travel companies were trying to remove Malta from their 2007 brochures, based on the concern that soon Malta will be demoted from mainstream to a distinct segment travel status.

Finally, on a positive note the pessimistic opinion of 2006 was substitute by an optimistic opinion for 2007 based on the new low cost flights plying in Malta and now it is estimated that around 100,000 additional visitors will be flying to Malta in 2007 in comparison to the previous year.
